Minister Richmond's Visit to Frankfurt
In May we had the privilege of welcoming Minister of State at the Department of Finance, Mr. Neale Richmond T.D., to Frankfurt, which was his first visit abroad since becoming Minister of State at the Department of Finance.
The first stop on the Minister’s visit was the Frankfurt Stock Exchange where the Minister met with IHK Frankfurt am Main’s Vice President, Mr. Klaus-Stefan Ruoff and Project Manager, Ms. Viviane Volk.
Minister Richmond then transferred to the European Central Bank where he met with Chief Economist, Mr. Philip Lane, for wide-ranging discussion.
Later that day, Minister Richmond met with the new Hessian State Secretary for Federal, European and International Affairs and Bureaucracy Reduction, Ms. Karin Müller, to review Ireland’s extensive bilateral engagement with Hesse.
Minister Richmond’s visit concluded by delivering a keynote address ahead of a panel discussion entitled Ireland As a European Regulatory Centre of Excellence, hosted by Ireland for Law, IDA Ireland and the Consulate. With moderation by Chair of the Bar of Ireland, Ms. Sara Phelan S.C., panellists Ms. Niamh Mullholland and Mr. Maurizio Pastore shared their expertise on Ireland’s financial services sector and Ireland's regulatory offering.
