Update to visa application process for Kosovo residents
From 2 April 2024, visa application material for travel to Ireland for residents of Kosovo should be sent to the Embassy of Ireland, Budapest.
This change only affects residents of Kosovo, residents of Montenegro should continue to send documentation to our Honorary Consulate in Belgrade.
Currently, applicants in Kosovo send their documents to our Honorary Consulate in Belgrade. This will remain the case until 1 April 2024. Any visa applications sent by 1 April will continue to be processed by our Honorary Consulate in Belgrade.
The process from 2 April 2024
From 2 April 2024, visa applicants in Kosovo should apply online on the Irish Immigration Service website, the online application will be assigned to Embassy of Ireland, Budapest.
Applicants should then send all required documentation and their passport by courier to Embassy of Ireland, Budapest.

We only accept documentation via courier.
We do not send confirmations of receipt of parcel, please check the waybill to see if your parcel was received. If not, you should contact the courier service.
When a decision is made, the Embassy will contact the applicant to hire a courier for return of passport. The cost of the courier must be pre-paid by the applicant.
Please ensure you familiarise yourself with documents required for the type of visa you will be traveling on.

Long stay visa applications

Short stay visa applications
It remains the position that we are not accepting short stay visa applications. However, certain priority/emergency cases will continue to be processed.
