What is the Global Solidarity Run?
The Global Solidarity Run, organised by Sanctuary Runners, is a unique event where people can run, jog or walk any distance as part of one global team.
People around the world will come together on October 19th, 2024, in an act of global solidarity with people living through forced displacement and extreme poverty.
From Addis Ababa to Tokyo, Sydney to Toronto, New York to Pretoria and Copenhagen to Buenos Aires, people will join forces for a unique moment of global solidarity.
Sanctuary Runner groups in 40-locations across Ireland will be marking the day with runs, jogs and walks.
Thanks to support from Strava, individual runners the world over can take part too and share their efforts through the social network.
The Global Solidarity Run is an initiative by Sanctuary Runners, an Irish Solidarity-Through-Sport movement, and supported by Irish Aid, the Ireland Funds and Strava.
