The Embassy hosts Team Ireland Conference to Strengthen Business Ties with Jordan
The Embassy of Ireland in Jordan hosted the first ever Team Ireland Event at the Fairmount Hotel in Amman. The event brings together Ireland’s Regional State Agencies, including Enterprise Ireland, Board Bia, and IDA Ireland, along with the Jordan Ireland Business Association.
The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of H.E. Ms. Kholoud Saqqaf, Minister of Investment, who highlighted the significance of strengthening economic ties between Jordan and Ireland. H.E. Mrs. Marianne Bolger, Ambassador of Ireland to Jordan, also emphasized the vast potential for economic collaboration between the two nations.
Despite an impressive 80% increase in bilateral trade since the opening of the Embassy of Ireland in Jordan in 2019, there remains substantial untapped potential for economic collaboration. The Team Ireland Event aims to address this by bringing key stakeholders from Ireland and Jordan to explore new opportunities and build on the excellent relations that are already in place.
The event seeks to facilitate awareness and collaboration between Irish state agencies and key stakeholders in Jordan, aiming to enhance economic cooperation. Through panel discussions and presentations, the event aims to identify new opportunities for bilateral trade and economic growth. It also focuses on strengthening ties between representatives from Irish state agencies, Jordanian governmental bodies, and industry leaders.
Ambassador Marianne Bolger stated, "This event is a testament to the commitment of both nations to enhance economic ties and explore new avenues for collaboration. It builds on the positive momentum generated by earlier activities, including the launch of the Doing Business in Jordan guide and the Arab-Irish Business Forum and activities of the Jordan Ireland Business Association. It sets an ambitious agenda for 2024 and beyond for the benefit of both Ireland and Jordan"
