Visas for Ireland
Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, visa requirements for Ukrainians to travel to Ireland for stays of up to 90 days have been waived. Additionally, Ukrainians who were ordinarily resident in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 may avail of the EU's Temporary Protection Directive in Ireland, granting them the right to stay in Ireland for one year (renewable), and to work, access education, healthcare, accommodation, and other social benefits.
Visit the Temporary Protection Directive for more information.
It is not possible to apply for an Irish visa in Ukraine at the moment as VFS Kyiv, our visa facilitation partner in Ukraine (visa application centre), is currently closed until further notice. If you need a visa, you must instead submit supporting documentation directly to the Department of Justice’s visa office in Dublin, or via an Embassy of Ireland in another country. You can also contact the Department of Justice’s dedicated email address for Ukrainian visa applicants here: ukrainevisa@dfanet.ie
The Department of Justice website contains useful information about visa and immigration processes and requirements.
Please note that if you are a citizen of a non-EU country, whether you need a visa or not, you will be subject to immigration control when you enter Ireland.
