Visit of Secretary General to Warsaw - April 2024
The Secretary General of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Joe Hackett, visited Poland 22-23 April.
The Secretary General took part in consultations with the Polish government on European and global issues.
In meetings with Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, Undersecretary of State for Europe, and Henryka Mościcka-Dendys, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, the Secretary General discussed European policy, our support for Ukraine, and bilateral relations between Ireland and Poland. He also discussed plans for upcoming EU Presidencies – Poland will hold the Presidency of the EU in 2025, and Ireland will hold it in 2026.
The Secretary General also met with the Embassy team, and with political analysts.
