Road to the World Cup with Cora and Emma
Ahead of the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, we brought two legends of Irish women’s sport together.
Girls in Green
Emma Byrne and Cora Staunton talk about the Girls in Green and their historic first appearance at a major tournament.
Cora and Emma pack their bags to head off on a road trip around Ireland. They take in the sights from all over the island and even have a kick around on the beach.
Sporting journeys
Emma is the most capped Irish women’s international of all time. Playing as a professional footballer with Arsenal for over fifteen years and she was the FAI Senior Women’s International Player of the Year in 2012.
Cora is a four-time All-Ireland Senior Football Champion with Mayo and an FAI Women’s Cup medal winner.
She is also the second all-time scorer in the AFLW with more than 50 goals for Greater Western Sydney Giants.
In this video, the pair chat about their sporting journeys and the rise of Irish women’s sport. They even talk about their favourite parts of Ireland.
