The Embassy of Ireland in South Africa in partnership with Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct, the Department of Science & Innovation (DSI) and Dogpatch Labs Ireland is excited to announce the top 7 South African tech startups of the Irish Tech Challenge South Africa 2024.
Join us as we unveil the winning cohort of the 2024 Irish Tech Challenge South Africa where the Super 7 Start-ups will showcase their SDG-aligned innovations.

South African Innovation Meets Irish Expertise
The Challenge, now in its 3rd year, aims to fuse Irish technology expertise with the innovation of South African tech entrepreneurs.
Along with funding, winners will also have premier access to Ireland’s vast technological expertise and influential networks to bolster their growth.
With a special emphasis on women entrepreneurs, the Irish Tech Challenge South Africa is rooted in promoting innovation, fostering technology development, and ensuring effective technology deployment within South Africa.

These seven high-impact innovators, whose start-ups are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),will each be awarded €10,000 in funding, as well as:
- A funded trip to Ireland as part of a curated business networking programme with access to the country’s top business leaders.
- Access to the Irish tech ecosystem with potential opportunities for further funding.
- Acceleration support to position their global scaling strategy in collaboration with Dogpatch Labs in Ireland.
The Irish Tech Challenge South Africa emerged from the reality of the barriers faced by South African tech entrepreneurs ready for global scalability -- limited resources, high tech costs, and network and infrastructure access -- providing a bridge between dynamic South African start-ups and Ireland's vast tech ecosystem.
