Amy Seigenthaler Pierce Appointed Honorary Consul in Tennessee
The Consulate General of Ireland in Atlanta, representing Ireland in the US Southeast, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Amy Seigenthaler Pierce as Ireland’s first Honorary Consul in Tennessee, based in Nashville.
The decision to appoint an Honorary Consul reflects Ireland’s ambition for and commitment to the state, as well as the growing political, business, tourism and cultural links between Ireland and Tennessee. Approximately 10% of Tennessee’s almost 7 million inhabitants claim Irish heritage.
Ireland is the sixth biggest source of Foreign Direct Investment in to Tennessee, and Irish investment in Tennessee supports approximately 8,000 jobs throughout the state.
Ms. Seigenthaler Pierce is both a proud Tennessean and a proud Irish-American who maintains strong links to Ireland. She currently serves on the board of the US-Ireland Alliance and previously served as chief aide to U.S. Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith at the U.S. Embassy in Dublin from 1994 to 1999. She is a Managing Partner at FINN partners, a global marketing and communications agency, and will continue in that position while assuming the responsibilities of Honorary Consul
The Honorary Consul in Nashville will work with the Consulate General in Atlanta to support Irish citizens, growing our ties in the state and building Ireland’s profile as a place to visit, work, invest and study.
Speaking ahead of a visit to Nashville announcing the appointment, Caoimhe Ní Chonchúir, Ireland’s Consul General in Atlanta, said:
