St Brigid's Day 2024
Earlier this year, in partnership with the Wolfsonian-FIU museum, the Consulate celebrated St Brigid’s Day – the first celebration of its kind since the opening of the new Consulate. St. Brigid is the female patron saint of Ireland and on 1 February – her feast day – Ireland celebrates the public holiday by highlighting the achievements and talent of Irish women. Watch the below highlights of our event, which included a performance by the Irish singer-songwriter, Ailbhe Reddy, and a talk on the female figures featured in Harry Clarke’s Geneva Window and the context of Irish society at the time of its creation by the Irish-American academic, Kelly Sullivan.
We were delighted to work with the Wolfsonian-FIU and strongly encourage you to visit their wonderful exhibition on Harry Clarke and the Geneva Window.
