Ireland Celebrates NYC Pride!
On June 30th, 2024, over 100 members of our community came together in support of LGBT+ rights as the Ireland contingent marched down 5th avenue in New York City's Pride March.
In Ireland, grá is the law!
The Consulate General of Ireland in New York was thrilled to participate in the 54th annual NYC Pride march alongside more than 100 members of our community. This year's march held special significance as it marked 50 years since the first LGBT demonstration in Dublin, reflecting on the progress and resilience of Irish and Irish-American LGBTQ+ community members.
Among the participants marching proudly with us was Daniel Dromm, former New York City councilman known for his role in founding the inclusive St. Pat’s for All parade and Queens Pride. His presence underscored the spirit of resilience and inclusivity that defines Pride celebrations worldwide.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us in celebrating love, diversity, and inclusion during NYC Pride. Ireland is committed to protecting and promoting the rights of LGBT+ worldwide.
